Facett Manual for idiots
Welcome. This is the facett Manual — the same help you are reading right now, baked straight into the binary. There is no file to install and no folder to point at: the whole manual is compiled in with include_str! / include_bytes!, so it opens instantly and works on a totally airgapped box.
Two ways to read it
The manual ships in two rendering variants, and you pick which one you want from the toggle at the top of the pane:
- Typeset (SVG) — the pretty, book-like variant. Every page is a vector SVG, rendered by the pure-Rust resvg pipeline (no PDF plugin, no native libs). This is the default — it is what you see when the manual first opens.
- Markdown — the same content as a continuous, searchable Markdown flow. Good for copy-paste, fast scanning, and reading the whole thing top-to-bottom.
Both variants are embedded. Switching between them touches nothing on disk.
Getting around
- Use the variant toggle to swap Typeset ⇄ Markdown.
- In the Typeset variant you get a contents sidebar, zoom, fit-width, continuous or paged reading, and full-text search over the page text layer.
- In the Markdown variant you get a category sidebar, a search box, and a Paged / Continuous switch for the reading area.
That is the whole idea: one manual, two looks, always in the binary.
