Trademark policy
"holger", the holger name, the holger logo, and the project's visual identity and official product designations are trademarks owned jointly by Vetra Automation AB and Ignalina ApS. All rights in them are reserved.
The software license is not a trademark license
holger's code is under AGPL-3.0-only and its original documentation under CC-BY-4.0. Neither license grants any right to use the holger trademarks. Trademark rights are separate from copyright, and are not licensed by this project.
You do not need permission to use the "holger" name for ordinary, truthful references — for example, to state that your project works with holger, is built on holger, or is a fork of holger. This is nominative, factual use and is fine.
Forks and derivatives
You are free to fork holger under the AGPL. When you do:
- You may truthfully state that your fork is "derived from holger", "based on holger", or "a fork of holger".
- You may not present your fork as an official holger release, as endorsed by or affiliated with Vetra Automation AB or Ignalina ApS, or in a way likely to confuse users about the source or official status of the software.
- Please rename a fork that you distribute or operate as a distinct product, so users are not misled into thinking it is the official holger. Do not use the holger logo or visual identity for your fork.
What requires permission
Using the holger name or logo in a way that suggests official status, endorsement, or affiliation — in product names, company names, domain names, logos, or marketing — requires prior written permission from Vetra Automation AB and Ignalina ApS.
